The 2011 Remembrance Day ceremony at the Woodstock cenotaph was a nice, well-attended service. The size of the crowd demonstrated that remembering the veterans is still considered a priority by many.
The Shiretown Blogger gave Remembrance Day a lot of coverage because it does not seem to be given enough attention. Some Canadian provinces still do not acknowledge it as a statutory holiday, despite the fact that many brave individuals fought and sacrificed their lives so those governments could have the freedom to acknowledge November 11th as a state holiday.
Nonetheless, the rain stopped in time for the ceremony, which was good. The cenotaph ceremony should still be attended, rain or shine. Our war veterans endured much worse conditions.
