Celebrating Canada Day in the Shiretown

The Town of Woodstock celebrated Canada's 145th birthday with sidewalk sales at local businesses on Friday, June 29th and festivities in Woodstock's historic downtown on Sunday, July 1st.

A boat parade was held in the Saint John River where illuminated boats would travel from the marina in Lower Woodstock up the river and back.

Fireworks were also launched from the former waste water treatment plant late Sunday evening.

The Shiretown Blogger was only able to make it to the sidewalk sale held in the town square by Newnham & Slipp Pharmacy on Friday morning.

I took some pictures of the illuminated boat parade on Sunday night. Unfortunately, they did not turn out. But the following are some You Tube videos from the fireworks display, which is quite a sight annually courtesy of the Town of Woodstock.
