The Shiretown Blogger's Back to School Message

The worst day ever and long-awaited day at the same time will finally come tomorrow. Classes will resume as school starts for most Saint John River Valley residents.

Students in the northern part of Carleton County hit the books two weeks ago and will soon be taking an annual two-week potato harvest break.

University and college students have been working on moving into their new residences, whether it is a university residence or a new apartment. If this is your first time out of the nest, I hope you enjoy yourselves but don't let the freedom get to your head.

If you are a kindergarten student, I experienced that about ten or eleven years ago. Trust me, I know that feeling. To parents who are sending their son or daughter off to kindergarten for the first time or to a post-secondary school, that can be a bittersweet thing.

The Shiretown Blogger would like to wish everyone a safe and enjoyable school year.
