There is a possibility the Stormdale Covered Bridge will be rebuilt

In most cases, the provincial government decides against the rebuilding of destroyed covered bridges. But they may change their thinking in the case of the Stormdale Covered Bridge.

The Department of Transportation (DoT) is not ruling out the option of reconstructing the structure, which was destroyed by a terrible arson on August 13, 2011. DoT is also thinking of replacing the bridge with a structure with a standard design. They are analyzing the cost, amount of traffic and the impact on transportation in the area.

The only option for residents of the affected areas is to take alternate routes until the structure is replaced. At present time, it is unclear how long it will take the DoT to make a decision.
