Woodstock Slammers' win streak increases to 16

After facing the Yarmouth Mariners in a close competition on Friday, November 4th, the Woodstock Slammers have continued on their hot streak, defeating the Mariners 2-1 in a shootout on home ice. The Slammers are now undefeated for sixteen games (16-0-0-0).

Yarmouth forward Colin Campbell scored the Mariners' goal at 9:08 in the first period. Period number two remained scoreless, but the Slammers fought back in the third period, as Andrew Langan put the rubber between the pipes at 18:11.

The game went into sudden death overtime. A period of sudden death OT failed to decide a winner, so things then went into a shootout. Nick Huard of the Slammers scored in the first shot of the shootout. The winning goal for the Woodstock side in the shootout was netted by Bradley Greene.

On Sunday, November 6th, the Slammers will visit the Summerside Capitals. Their next home game is scheduled for Friday, November 11th (Remembrance Day) at 7:30 pm at the Carleton Civic Centre.
"Movember" is currently in full force, and the Slammers are participating. Every player on the Slammers' roster will grow (or attempt to grow) a moustache and keep it for thirty days in support of men's health. The Slammers are hoping to raise $10,000 for the cause.
