Slammers shutout Truro

in Friday night's contest against the Truro Bearcats. Truro fell 6-0 to the mighty Slammers.
The Woodstock Slammers shutout the Truro Bearcats 6-0 on home ice in MHL hockey action on Friday, February 10th.

Bradley Greene and Tim Campbell had the most points for the Slammers in the contest, with one goal and two assists each. Andrew Langan and Sam Caldwell both had one goal and one assist.

At 62 total points, Greene still has the most points for the Slammers. Tim Campbell, Connor Tresham and Nick Huard also remain high on the Slammers' points list.

The scoring in Friday night's game was opened by Nick Huard nearly five minutes into the first period. Tim Campbell also scored just over seven minutes into the game.

The local novus team entertained the crowd of 1,002 people with a shootout during the first intermission.      


Sam Caldwell netted the first goal of period two nearly four and a half minutes into the period.

Robert Visca scored on the power play at 6:23 in period two. 

Andrew Langan netted a second power play goal for the home nearly seven minutes into period three. 

The game winner was a shorthanded goal netted by Bradley Greene at 9:56. 

Slammers goaltender Matt Murphy gained his third shutout of the season. Truro net defender Spencer Scott refused 22 out of 28 shots faced, or 78 per cent for the loss.
