Slammers fall in fourth game of RBC Cup, second consecutive defeat

The Woodstock Slammers' hopes of advancing to the RBC Cup semi-finals just got further from becoming a reality.

The Slammers fell to the Soo Thunderbirds 7-4 in their fourth game of the 2012 RBC Cup. As a result of the loss, the Slammers' current overall record stands at 1-3-0 in the tournament.

The first period was a high-scoring one, with James Delayer opening the scoring on a power play just three and a half minutes into the match. Ben Miller had been sent to the penalty box for holding nearly thirty seconds prior to Delayer's goal.

Matthew Amadio increased the score to 2-0 in favour of the Thunderbirds at 4:19.
