Happy New Brunswick Day!

Premier's New Brunswick Day message

Premier David Alward

New Brunswick Day is a very special time in our province. It is a chance for New Brunswickers to join together to celebrate the spirit of family and community that is so vibrant here.

It is a time to remember the contributions of generations of New Brunswickers who came together to build a better province and who competed to be the very best in the world.

I see the same perseverance, resourcefulness and vision at work every day as New Brunswickers focus on meeting today's challenges and growing tomorrow's opportunities.

New Brunswick draws its strength from its people and the ties that connect our diverse communities across a generous and striking geography. Newcomers from around the world continue to make unique contributions to our open and multicultural society.

And as Canada's officially bilingual province, we continue to show leadership and share the lasting social and economic progress we have made as one society.

This growth has produced a robust knowledge economy and a skilled bilingual workforce that are sparking innovation within our internationally recognized smart cities and our vitally important rural industries.

Despite the challenges we face, I believe this is a time to look ahead with confidence to an even brighter future in a stronger New Brunswick.

I encourage everyone in our province to take some time to participate in New Brunswick Day festivities on Aug. 1.

This is our day, and there is no better way to celebrate New Brunswick than by getting together with family, friends and neighbours in your community.

To all New Brunswickers, I wish you a safe and happy New Brunswick Day!
